IN MEMORY

May 10th, 2012

It is with deep sadness to announce that our dear friend, Anna Montoya, passed on Thursday morning, May 10, 2012.

Anna’s home is the Corn Clan house in Mishongnovi.  She was an extremely generous and hospitable person and her home was always open.

She loved her family dearly!  We will all miss her.

IN NOVEMBER

October 13th, 2011

We’ll be on Hopi November 7-11 to visit many of our elderly friends in the traditional villages on all three Mesas. We will also set up something with the Kykotsmovi store to provide needy elders with a turkey for Thanksgiving Day.

All this is made possible through your generous gifts to our “Adopt an Elder” program. Thank you!   Please check back after our visit for an update.

Hopi Special Needs

September 24th, 2010

On Tuesday, September 12 Restoration took part in the Hopi Tribe Special Needs Annual Event.  They had a record crowd of over 1,000 people in attendance.  The purpose of this event was to continue to bring awareness and understanding of how to incorporate people with special needs and disabilities into everyday life.  Eva Sekayumptewa and her staff at the Hopi Office of Special Needs did an incredible job coordinating various groups from different tribes.  Everyone made this a very successful day!

Restoration provided 1,400 T-shirts, many donated by C28, on which the tribe printed the event logo and information.  As well, we distributed lots of candy and performed two magic shows.

We will take part in providing toys and other items for the Hopi Special Needs Christmas.  Contact us if you want to help us in providing the toys.

During the remainder of our trip, Wednesday and Thursday, we visited many friends in traditional villages on all three Mesas.  Through our “Adopt an Elder” program we were able to distribute to elderly $600 worth of $25 and $50 food certificates redeemable through the Kykotsmovi Store.  Visit our Adopt an Elder page for more information.

A special thanks to all who gave of their finances and their time to go!
